Humiliation for Cameron as net migration hits 298,000, TREBLE what he promised as number from the EU hits record high.

David Cameron is facing humiliation today as the level of net migration was revealed to be three times higher than his promise of 'tens of thousands'.

Latest figures show 298,000 more people arrived in Britain than left in the year to September, as the numbers arriving from the rest of the EU hit a record high.

The data is humiliating for the Prime Minister, who promised voters he would tackle immigration: 'No ifs. No buts.'

Tut tut tut, must do better with those 'promises'.

Over 600000 came in during this period. Most of them from outside the EU. We've been let down badly by this treacherous government.

Culture surely is how you feel and there's a disticnt English culture. I'm not talking about Cricket and Morris Dancing, it goes much deeper than that from the high and mighty to the working class.

Our mindset is different from our European neighbours and they all have their own distinct cultural traits. If you dismiss that and think we're the same you're very short sighted.

We are a sovereign state. We make it our right. If the EU don't like it they can kick us out.

Re: Immigration
I agree with you there Oliver. Calais is an abortion and shows the French for the truly unreliable "European Partners" that they actually are.

Those people illegally come into Marseille or Italian ports mostly and then hitch their way across France to Calais to try and get into UK because they know benefits are waiting for them. The problem is then that they are then the responsibility of the resident taxpayers of Calais to take care of them. They should never reach Calais but instead of stopping them at ports or gathering them up and shipping them back to where they came from, the French encourage them to come over to UK....

Of course the problem for the French is that if they stop them they apply for assylum in France which is what is supposed to happen. The French authorities don't want the problem of getting rid of them.

So our French "European Partners" do the Gallic thing, shrug their shoulders and blame the British for being racists and not letting these poor people into Britain and send the Mayor of Calais over to complain that it is a British problem because we allow these people to get benefits that they can't get in France....

Re: Immigration
How the fuck can even one person be allowed to stay in this country if entered illegally ?

A kick in the face to all the hard working Yanks , Aussies who ever that go though the painfully experience of visa applications to come live here.

Also when are these people who get over here via a back of a truck get prosecuted for breaking into a vehicle ?

I would be doing time if i was caught in a lorry park at night breaking into a trailer

Re: Immigration
Willtell the problem is that, we as part of the EU, have no right to restrict any of it's 1/2 billion citizens from entering the UK under normal circumstances.

This was fine when Central/Northern European countries made up the Union but things have gone awry with poor Southern European and ex Communist/Eastern Block countries invited to the party ...

Re: Immigration
As far as I'm aware, these are the numbers for legal immigration, not illegal immigration, Oliver.

The promise was a cynical vote-getting exercise that the Tories never intended to honour. The business lobby wants cheap labour, so Cameron will pretend that EU rules stop him from doing anything.

I think immigration should be limited but pulling up the drawbridge is not an option. Just put the resources in to qualify who we let in. If they are potless or don't have a job the answer is no thanks...

You know what the solution is. You shut the door and pull up the drawbridge. A similar concept which prevents unwanted people entering my house.

Country has had it unless there are major changes soon.

Open door policies have put us in the poo.
Everyday thousands pour through the ports and Airports.

Because of the Dopey Leftys and the Tories broken promises more and more middle of the road electorate are leaning towards the right.

Tick Tock
